Celebrate your love in New York City with a romantic
carriage ride through Central
Park. The lush lawns, private corners, gorgeous lakes
and twisting paths make it the perfect respite for New Yorkers. Pack
up a deli sandwich in a picnic basket and have lunch along the lake.
With so many people enjoying the outdoors in the park, the atmosphere
is delightful. If you are looking for something more active The Clermont
Riding Stable will rent a horse to accomplished English riders to
tour the scenic bridle paths.
Times
Square is the one attraction in New York City you will
not want to miss! Huge neon billboards, unique street performers,
and Broadway theaters draw over 37 million tourists to Times Square
every year, while 500,000 people come to Times Square on New Year's
Eve alone.
Stroll hand-in-hand through the streets of Greenwich
Village, in New York City. The Village is a shopper's paradise.
Sixth Avenue and Christopher and Bleecker streets are the popular
shopping squares that have an array of jazz cellars, coffee houses
and small boutiques. There are other shops too that sell records,
old books, offbeat clothing, ephemera and works by classic and contemporary
artists.
Take an elevator to the top of the Empire
State Building once the tallest but still with the most spectacular
view in the world. Walk out on the deck and get scenic view of the
Big Apple-New York City. Or view the Manhattan skyline from Brooklyn
Heights, the way they did in "Moonstruck".
Broadway
dissects the city on an angle from the East Side, downtown, to the
West Side, uptown. Set aside a night or two to take in a Broadway
play. A few selections for romantic people are "Beauty and the Beast,"
"Grease," or "Phantom of the Opera." You can pick up a half-price
ticket for a Broadway evening performance at TKTS Ticket Booth in
Times Square. Follow up the performance with a romantic candle light
dinner at River Cafι River located near Brooklyn Bridge, New York
City. It has a romantic atmosphere. You will enjoy feasting on the
scrumptious Continental cuisine having touch of Asian flair. Do end
the delightful meal with yummy desserts.
America's most famous symbol for freedom - an icon for the immigrant,
Liberty Enlightening the World as it is officially titled is familiarly
just the Statue
of Liberty. The North Cove Marina is usually filled with
mega-yachts and international racing boats. It is the centerpiece
of a waterside promenade that leads north to a lovely park and south
to Battery Park. A leisurely stroll along the Statue of Liberty is
one of the most romantic activities in the city. From here, its an
easy walk across town to the South Street Seaport. At night, when
the cars and people are gone, and City Hall, historical buildings
and the churches are lighted, its quite stunning. The hotels cater
to Wall Street during the week and welcome weekenders with lower prices. |
